Flowering Fences is a group of Australian bred Camellia Sasanquas that are fantastic screening or hedging plants.  They are the best low maintenance, pest and disease resistant, flowering hedging plants on the market today.  They are a perfect choice for your flowering fence, use as a dwarf border plant or for use in espalier or topiary.  Most varieties fave a slight fragrance and all are good reliable growers.

Camellia sasanqua “Mothers Day” is a long livid, evergreen, bushy shrub with attractive, glossy, dark green leaves.  Masses of very large, white, blushed pink double flowers appear in mid autumn just in time for  a great gift idea for Mothers Day.  They are low maintenance.

They are easily grown under most soil types and conditions, (avoid extremely alkaline soils and heavy clay).  Avoid lime.  They will perform better in a well drained soil, and will tolerate wind, frost, full sun through to full shade.

They are a a very hardy bush and will tolerate dry periods once established.

Keep moist when young and prune regularly after flowering and again when growth begins to keep a bushy shape.

Apply mulch regularly to prevent weeds and retain soil moisture.

Use a well balanced controlled release fertiliser every six months.
