Drainage gravel is used were drainage is important eg behind retaining walls in trenches and as an inexpensive driveway cover.

Road base is used in the construction of driveways, footpaths and under pavers where an extra strong sub base is required.

Blue metal is used in the construction of concrete mix as it blinds together strongly due to its angular shape. It can be used behind retaining walls as drainage gravel or for topping driveways.

Quarter minus is used for packing under pavers and under pathways as fill then topped with decorative stone. Mixed with cement it can be used as a weaker type of concrete.
